You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is designed for use by parents and families; however, it is not intended for unsupervised use by children.
The Service offers a free tier with limited daily scans. No account creation is required for the free tier.
BiteScout Pro is available as a monthly subscription or annual subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase system. By subscribing:

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after notice is provided, as required by applicable law and Apple's policies.

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, logos, user interface, safety analysis algorithms, and additive/ingredient databases, is owned by BiteScout and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. "BiteScout" and the BiteScout logo are our trademarks.
Product data sourced from Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts is available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Drug labeling data from openFDA is public domain. We acknowledge and respect these licenses.
Any product reviews or content you submit through the Service remains your property, but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute such content within the Service.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BiteScout and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:
You may stop using the Service and delete the App at any time.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, either party may pursue binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BiteScout regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
